I too am a bloody elitist
According to Nick Ferrari, Jacob Rees-Moog, Nigel Farage, Boris Johnson and all other members of the Leave Means Leave nomenclature, I -an educated middle class Remainer- am too an elitist. As are the 700,000 people who went and demonstrated in London last week not to cancel the referendum or revert Brexit but to demand a people’s vote on the final deal. In contrast to them, leftists guerrilla fighters of the British mountains, ready to form their own paramilitary troops and fight against the dictatorship of experts threatening to take over and revert the will of the people, the will for Brexit. I went to University, even got myself an MSc, I love books and going to the theatre, I love travelling, I am a hard-working (?) family man trying to make a descent living therefore of course I an elitist. I live in Surrey and alas, inside the M25, this natural border that separates poor and rich, the people and the oligarchs, the pleb and the ruling class, the common people who voted to take back control and the elitist Remainers.
I probably belong in the 10% (income-wise) therefore by default I am evil. I am educated, hence know-it-all. I believe in science and experts’ opinion, I must be an extremist threatening the status quo! And worse of all….I am an immigrant. A fucking foreigner, that took advantage of EU law and came over to this country. I admit it. I stole a job from one of you native Brits. There was a guy before in my role and one dark night I broke into the company’s headquarters and stole his job. It was all so quick, poor English fellow didn’t realise what happened. One day he was working hard to make ends meet and next thing he knows his job is brutally and violently stolen from him. I am so foreigner, that I don’t even have an accent. Lucky thing I’m white and not a Muslim otherwise I’d be doomed. I better learn to behave like a proper EU immigrant as explained in the video below.
Yes I fucking love Nish Kumar and THE MASH REPORT and obviously this impromptu post was inspired by their S2 debut which aired last week.
PS: I am lucky to be surrounded by British people who are cool and open-minded and despite their opinion on Brexit are kind and friendly and accept us for who and what we are. Obviously the anger as expressed in the above post is not directed at them.
